Gastronomic Crossroads 2024-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000249708
Culinary Heritage as Vocational Learning
The Gastronomic Crossroads Project is an Erasmus+ initiative coordinated by us, Black Sea FooDignity Association, together with partners from Romania, Spain and Türkiye. Co-funded by the European Union under 2024-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000249708 – Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training, the project connects culinary heritage, professional training and European cooperation.
The project explores the shared cultural roots of Romanian and European gastronomy and transforms them into practical educational resources. Through a train-the-trainers approach, future vocational trainers participate in international workshops alongside chefs, academics and VET specialists, then pass the knowledge and methods on to other learners.
The activities combine culinary research, practical training and peer learning, with a focus on traditional recipes, contemporary techniques, sustainability, cultural identity and social responsibility. Workshops in Romania, Spain and Türkiye also support the testing and improvement of the project curriculum and Trainer’s Guide.
One of the project’s main long-term results is an open e-learning platform, which will provide access to training modules, research materials and practical resources for trainers, learners and culinary professionals. The platform will help extend the impact of the project beyond the international workshops and support independent learning across Europe.
